Dear Parents,
I am looking forward to an exciting year at First Baptist School. We have some exciting new changes for the 2009-2010 school year. We will continue using the WEE Learn Curriculum for our 3 and 4 year old classes. This is an engaging, hands-on, and Christ-centered curriculum that provides age-appropriate learning activities. For our Kindergarten class, we will continue implementing Positive Action Bible Curriculum, Scholastic Literacy Place, and Everyday Mathematics. Biblical truths will be taught throughout every subject area. In addition to these wonderful curriculums, we will also be adding another element, Handwriting Without Tears. HWT is a developmental handwriting program that is age appropriate in its implementation. We look forward to this new addition.
To enhance our curriculum and provide additional learning experiences for your child, each class will attend a daily 25-minute rotation class. The two rotation classes are “Music and Movement” and “Techno Time (a time to utilize our new technology – laptops and Leap Frog materials)”. We know these rotations will provide for a well-rounded learning experience for your child.
